Rant on Richmond High Rape

A lot of the focus I’ve seen on the rape is on security and how now they’re finally using that $1.2M to install 100+ cameras on campus. That’s all fine and it’ll definitely help the police or maybe stop people from wanting to do things… on campus. But, the only person I saw talking any sense was Coach Carter. He also complained that cameras shouldn’t be the only solution. There won’t be any change unless you get through to the community… the culture needs to change. Security cameras aren’t going to help change the mentality that this shit is okay.

Our society is always so set on immediate results and action. Yet, when time passes… history ends up repeating itself because we don’t do anything that gets down to the real problem.
